Dear Chief Myers

I am a third year student at Hometown University with a major in Criminal Justice. As a part of my course on Criminal Justice in Communities, I am writing a term paper on the methods of local police agencies and what isn't seen by the media. I would very much like to spend a few days with your department and possibly accompany an officer on one of their normal patrols.

My professor, Nathan Carter, has told me that similar requests by students of his have been granted in years past. I would like to know if this is still possible.

I can be contacted any day from 6 PM until midnight and in the morning on Tuesday and Thursday. I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
