1. Drill: Play 'Picking out papers'. Prepare rolled pieces of papers with basic subtraction facts written on each. Have each pupil pick out one and answer the combination.

   The school needs 1548 flower pots. At present, the pupils have collected 435. How many flowers pots are needed?
