References are sources of information. To refer to a source is to both support a statement and indicate the source of information. Use of references in textual and conversational usage is employed to avoid lengthy descriptions, and/or establish a basis where the reference is known by all parties. In sciences, references are a formal citations of relevant information. In employment, references are people who can provide information about job applicants. |
