Example of Press Release

A press release is an informational document by a person or organization created for release to the news media. Press releases are both news and a form of expressing the views and information which the releasing party wishes to make public. Occasionally press releases are considered a form of indirect advertising, drawing attention to a product, event, or other commercial or professional activity. Press releases are used by the news media as primary sources, but are counterbalanced by additional information, when presented as news. Press releases are also used to counter negative information in the media about the subject party.
