Grant writing is a professional writing skill, based on a comprehensive knowledge of the processes and requirements of grant applications. Grants may come from philanthropic institutions, governments, or academic endowments. Grants usually include money, but may also include use of facilities. This style of writing requires a full knowledge of the grant proposal process, and often technical skills related to subjects, in order to provide a strong grant application. Any grant proposal must address all requirements of the grant's eligibility criteria. A grant proposal must be persuasive, informative, and show positive benefits of the grant proposal. |
