A literature review, aka literary review, as the name suggests, isn't a 'book review'. Literature reviews may cover any form of literature. The emphasis is on literary values, rather than analysis of a storyline or narrative. Literature reviews are done by experts in literature, usually specialists in particular genres of literature. Literature reviews are in effect critiques, conducted on a technical basis rather than a commercial or popular cultural basis. |
