Imagery as a general subject may refer to actual physical images, mental images, or use of words to evoke a scene or character. The word imagery is usually qualified by additional information to describe its nature or to express an opinion of the images created. |
Examples of Imagery:
The imagery in James Joyce's Ulysses are extraordinary. The imagery was flowery, but not to the point of nausea. Imagery has a place in literature, but you'd think it was the only reason for this type of story. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is full of imagery, but you wouldn't use it for tourism. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imagery https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_imagery https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archeological_imagery |
