An illustration may be a literal picture, or a graphic example of a situation intended to illustrate a principle or method. Illustration in either form may be actual examples or metaphoric allusions. In both cases the intention is to show the image as a clear picture of the situation. Some images have built in meanings which illustrate a commonly understood characteristic. |
Examples of Illustration:
The original Alice in Wonderland was illustrated to assist younger readers in visualizing Alice's adventures. Cartoons illustrate a story line, adding their imagery to the tale. In old story books, illustrations were used to provide a setting to the narratives. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illustration https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illustration https://mgl.scripps.edu/people/goodsell/illustration/public |
