'Temporal isolation' literally means 'isolated in time'. Computer systems are sometimes referred to as temporally isolated on the basis of their running schematics. In biology, the term refers to 'reproductive isolation', a situation defining the reproductive options of the subject.
Examples of Temporal Isolation:
|Computer systems- concurrent operation without interference from other elements in a system. The function is deemed temporally isolated. |
Biology- A situational factor or factors in which reproductive isolation occurs as a result of habitat issues or other obstructions. The subject is considered temporally isolated. The term becomes significantly more vague in that it also refers to different mating seasons as isolating species within a group of related species, where one subspecies breeds at a different time.
