A genetic structure having the same alleles a the same chromosomal locations. The alleles are indicators of traits or genetic characteristics through the hereditary line. Inheritance of identical alleles in the same location is a positive indicator of inherited genetic characteristics which may express themselves as being prone or not prone to genetic diseases, etc. The homozygous structures are effectively a hereditary map, pointing out common elements. Homozygous genetics are a part of the wider study of homology. |
