WYSIWYG, or What You See Is What You Get, is a term that refers to the ability to view text as it is typed. |
Examples of WYSIWYG:
| Microsoft Word Macromedia Dreamweaver https://old.library.georgetown.edu/newjour/w/msg01954.html https://kb.iu.edu/data/akbv.html https://www.mit.edu/~jtidwell/language/wysiwyg_editor.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WYSIWYG |

The program on the left uses a WYSIWYG editor to produce a document. The program on the right contains LaTeX code, which when compiled will produce a document that will look very similar to the document on the left. Compilation of formatting code is not a WYSIWYG process. |
