WAN, or Wide Area Network is a network of computers that are connected on a larger scale, hundreds and even thousands of miles apart. WAN's are helpful for national and international companies as it allows them to share files and other important information. Some WANs are public, but the majorities are private. WANs are also used to connect other smaller networks such as LANs. |
