Computer software is a term used to refer to computer programs, individually, as a group, or in abstract. The term is interchangeable with any expression referring to programs. However, actual program code writing, is a subject considered individual and separate, largely because 'software' is like referring to a car, where code writing refers to the components like engine parts.
