Role conflict is based on the concept that a person's social role conflicts with their actions or personal position. The conflict is created by incompatible issues within social structures and norms. A person whose social role is incompatible with a situation will experience stress and indecision as a result of being placed in a position contrary to that role. Role conflict also applies in terms of jobs, where a person's social position or responsibilities clash with their actions in performance of the job's role. |
