Kindness is the concept of acting kindly, helping people when in need, without obligation to do so. This is one of the classic virtues of traditional ethics, cited as proper behavior in many moral tales. It may also refer to an action taken at cost to oneself, a further qualifier in many contexts. The expression in common usage is usually qualified by a descriptor. In older usage, the term is also a courtesy of expression. |
