Example of Skepticism

Skepticism is literally a state of doubt, being unconvinced. In common usage it means disbelief, or doubt on principle of a statement or point of view. In literature, skepticism often takes the form of a story outlining the basis of the skepticism. Skepticism is also a social issue in public debate. There are skeptics associations around the world, which frequently express their doubts about popular fads and urban myths. In many cases these 'professional skeptics' often outline their criteria for proof of things like UFOs, supernatural events, or other unproven issues.
