A homogeneous mixture is a consistent mix of elements, forming a single 'like' or uniform substance which isn't differentiated by its elements like a heterogeneous mixture. The word 'homogeneous' literally means 'same origin'. A mixture is said to be homogenized when it has been turned into one form of material out of a range of other original elements. In biology, the term refers to organisms having the same genetic structure. Homogenous may also mean 'similar', when used to describe the mix of a social group. |
