Good character is a description of a character assessment in general usage. A person said to be of good character is effectively being approved or given a character reference by the person making the statement. This can be an important issue in business or when the person referred to is concerned with a position of trust. In law, good character is a description of a person, but may also refer to the person's legal history. In immigration law, a person's character in the legal sense may affect their ability to migrate to another country, if the assessment finds any issues with the person's criminal history. |
