Social skills and competences | In this field, I constantly meet new people with whom I practice my language skills. I am the secretary of the Portuguese Culture Club and I interact with new and existing member's everyday. As an intern I met people of all ages who loved the language as much as I. This taught me how to understand and be more patient with others and respect that we all learn differently.
| ||||||||||||||
Organisational skills | My organization skills are average. Personally and in my occupations I try my best to maintain a system that is understandable and makes it easy to find exactly what I need when I need it. As an intern, I encountered a few organizational problems, but developed a personal system to help me with this issue. Thus far, things have been going well.
| ||||||||||||||
Technical skills and competences | I haven't had much experience with technical subjects, as it is not a requirement for my studies. But as an intern and from personal experience I have worked with computer operated cash registers, scanners, printers, and variety of other small hand tools.
| ||||||||||||||
Computer skills and competences | My computer skills are average, as I only use the computer when it is required for my coursework. I have worked with just about all of the Windows OS and word processing programs ( I am a lover of the translating feature), and other foreign language software. I am an avid internet user, but only for research purposes.
| ||||||||||||||
Artistic skills and competences | Since the age of seven, I have been playing violin. I have performed in a large number of recitals and talent shows. I plan to work on this skill and take it to the next level sometime in the near future, but as for now I give lessons to children and adults whenever I find free time.
| ||||||||||||||
Other skills and competences | Other skills I possess are leading and teaching skills. I enjoy tutoring underclassmen as well as non-students during weekends and whenever I have time. This is volunteer work, as I enjoy every aspect of the Portuguese language. Although I am unsure of what I plan to do with my degree as of yet, I am seriously looking into the educational field.
