The children I was assigned to work with have certain development difficulties, including Asberger's Syndrome and specific learning disabilities. It was a challenge to find ways to reach the children so that they would be engaged in the process of learning. With an excellent supervising teacher, I have learned many techniques that allow me to bring excitement, enthusiasm, and creativity into the classroom. |
My summers have been spent at a daycare center in the suburban area, again an excellent experience to learn about the development and learning abilities of children. I was able to help coordinate field trips and enrichment activities for the children. Many parents personally thanked me for the interest I showed in their children.
The position at Smith School would allow me to share my experience and continued drive to learn more. I believe I can add value to your current teaching staff, and provide an excellent classroom experience to the second graders at Jones. I would welcome a chance to interview for the position.
Sincerely,
Carrie Hand
