I am writing to you in response to your ad in The Daily Post-Gazette for the position of Landscape Architect. I think you'll find that I am well qualified for the job after reading through my resume. I started my career after graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Landscape Architecture. Please refer to my resume for a list of classes that I took that I believe to be most relevant to this position. During my time at Penn State, I was an intern for a local landscaping business assisting the full-time employees with their duties. The hands-on experience I learned at that company was extensive, and will undoubtedly help me should I get this job. |
After college, I worked for a year for another company in Upstate New York. I started low in the ranks, but I was promoted three times thanks to my vision for design and horticultural talents. I have also attached a letter of recommendation from this employer, as your ad in The Daily News suggested.
You'll note from my resume that I was also an assistant planner during the building of a covered bridge near Rochester New York. After the bridge was completed, the lead landscape architect and designer hired me to do more work in the park and my name now appears on the thank you plaque at the bridge entrance. Please feel free to contact me via the phone number or email address listed in the footer of my resume, or the fax number given above. Thank you for taking the time to review my information.
