Guided imagery has a range of meanings, depending on context and particular areas of psychological or spiritual. It also has a working function in alternative medicine. In conventional medicine, it's recognized as a form of patient therapy. Psychology: Guided affective imagery is a psycho-therapeutic method using descriptive imagery, sometimes involving multiple sensory use as a positive element in treatment. Also used as positive reinforcement for treatment of some medical conditions. Spiritual: Meditation technique, used with Tarot in some cases. Alternative medicine: Used as positive force in various ways in the treatment of disease, stress reduction, reality constructs for self awareness. |
