Example of Totalitarianism

Totalitarianism is the principle of totalitarian government, rather than an actual ideology like Communism or Nazism. The term generically equates to forms of political tyranny. The expression is commonly used as a derogatory term to describe political practices which breach democratic principles. It may also describe the behavior of people in authority who are considered to be acting according to their own wishes and interests and beyond the scope of their legitimate entitlements.

Examples of Totalitarianism:

Acting in breach of the constitutional rights of others.
Acting without regard to due legal process.
Abusing authority for political purposes.
Abusing power of political or civil office.
