Public policy is policy created by governments on the basis of public interest. Public policy is based on a process which includes both political motifs and social input. These policies include areas of current and planned policy initiatives. In broad sociological terms long term public policy is a process of policy evolution, incorporating generally accepted principles and developing them over time.
Examples of Public Policy:
|Health policy: Includes principles of medical insurance, provision of hospital and paramedical services, ambulance services, etc.|
Education policy: Curriculum issues, budget, literacy levels, fees structures, testing criteria, education infrastructure.
Defense policy: Budget appropriations, acquisition of materials and equipment.
