Example of Species

Scientific usage- A species is a distinct group of plants or animals, distinguished by genetic characteristics which make it individual. Species are also classified as being within a related group as sub species.
Common usage- The scientific form of usage is also used as a descriptor where appropriate, but has a broader meaning referring to a type, or class of subject. A subject may be referred to idiomatically as a 'species' in context with a statement.
