Example of Pulley

A pulley is based on a rope and roller system, often called a drum, which uses the rope as the attachment to the object to be raised or moved. Pulleys provide high motive strengths applied to the load, and enable control of the movement of the object.

Examples of Pulley:

The best known and most advanced example of the powered pulley is the crane, which also includes lateral movement capabilities and 'reach', providing high levels of efficiency on site.
Hand powered or cranked pulleys are usually used for low level weights, often used on building sites or in workshops as load managers.
