My duties include the examination of animals to determine the nature of disease or injury and treat the animal accordingly. I advise animal owners about sanitary measures, feeding, and general care to promote health of animals.

I have also carried out diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, blood samples and ultra-sound. Immunize animals against different forms of disease, inserts identification microchips into animals. Because of this I often promote the need for pet identification and control within the community. Develop policies and procedures used in the care, security, prognosis and euthanasia of captured and unclaimed animals.

I have cared for in-patient animals, including examining and advising on treatment, euthanized old, sick, terminally ill or unwanted animals. I have met and consulted with owners, treated and dressed wounds, set fractures, performed surgery, and advised owners about animal feeding, behavior, and breeding. I routinely make a routine health status examinations on all animals in the facility. I have performed spay and neuter surgeries for adoptable animals; medicated animals suffering from infections or illnesses; reviewed animal bite reports as well as prepared rabies samples and notified victims. I have effectively maintained records, reports and certificates in compliance with current legislation. I have been able to provide suitable paperwork for animals traveling abroad.
