I am writing because I wanted to say thanks for your best wishes on my new job. It's a little scary being referred to as general manager, but I'm looking forward to getting used to it. I didn't even notice until now that your congratulations were late in arriving; as I recall, you were semi-famous in college for your late arrival to class.

Please pass along my best wishes to your husband and your family. I am hoping that we can get together for lunch sometime soon.
