A testimonial is literally a testimony to a particular situation, thing or person. A testimonial can be to the way a situation was managed, a product, or the character of an individual. A description of an event may be described as a testimonial to a particular point of view regarding a subject. In most cases testimonials are supposed to be voluntary, honest expressions of opinion, but in advertising testimonials, real or invented, are also used to talk up the value of products.
