Qualitative statements are qualified by their context. Qualitative descriptions or analyses refer to the nature and specific qualities of the subject. Contexts can be broad, from a qualitative description of the performance of a company to a description of a product or service. Usage of qualitative terms can be formal, as in business qualitative analysis, based on required standards. In common usage qualitative expressions are opinions as well as being descriptions.
