Examples of Bridal Invitations
Bridal invitations are given by the family of the bride. They're usually highly decorative and formal invitations. Guests names should be highlighted and appropriately titled. Civil and professional titles must always be used in formal invitations.
The RSVPs are extremely important, because they affect the whole organization of the wedding. RSVPs are customarily in writing, rather than by phone or email, but it's advisable to include these contacts for the sake of efficiency for those who won't be able to attend.
Note: Bridal invitations can vary considerably. Some invitations may also be to the wedding ceremony only, others to the reception only, because of limitations on space and availability of places at the wedding service, etc.
Some wedding celebrations don't include actual receptions, but similar informal parties/gatherings after the service, usually catered or organized in advance and held at the home of the parents of either the bride or groom. Invitations are coordinated to include these arrangement with the people hosting the event, to cover the entire guest list. RSVPs for these home celebrations.
Certain protocols apply to specific invitations. If inviting a single person, that invitation must read 'and guest' or 'and partner', if you're unsure who that person will be. Family invitations should refer to the parents, and/or the family, either individually in the case of children using the first names only, or just 'and family' as an open invitation for those able to attend.
