Main activities and responsibilities  As a vocational counselor I assisted students in understanding their career capabilities and provided assistance in finding a job after they have finished their education. Social skills and competences  I am very perceptive, students do not like to openly admit their problems or troubles, I can emphasize with the students under my care and approach them in a way that encourages communication. I have excellent speaking skills, I often lead meetings for the older students to inform them of the different options available to them after secondary education, I usually do most of the speaking providing information and answering questions. I work well with others, as a vocational counselor I often worked closely with outside employers and employment agencies in order to find jobs that best suited each student.
    
Organisational skills  As a counselor for a larger school, I must keep very organised records of the students under my care. I am also in charge of organising meetings for parents and students, to discuss options for when they finish school. I also plan the yearly career week and career day events at Deerhart High school for the past 5 years.
