Main activities and responsibilities  I worked in the Communcations department. My primary duties were in the press and research areas. I assembled press kits, studied different media outlets such as television, newspaper, and radio. I also assisted with other press and research projects whenever needed. I also performed minor tasks in other departments as well, these ranged from handling various campaign donations (monetary and non-monetary), and sorting campaign mail. I worked on average 10 to 20 hours a week.

Main activities and responsibilities  Here I protested and performed various campaigning activities. These activities ranged from creating, designing, and crafting a variety of bulletin boards, brochures, and campaigning signs. Although a vast majority of my time was spent performing routine office activities (taking calls, etc.), I never passed up a chance to work in the field. I worked with teenagers and officials to help decrease the juvenile crime rate. I volunteered here for 10 to 15 hours a week.

Social skills and competences  I have encountered a variety of social situations and have handled them perfectly. As an intern, I have shown that I can listen to others, as well as show empathy and respect for their views. I approach social situations with confidence, and are others trust me and often come to me for advice.
    
Organisational skills  I have shown my organizational skills as a student, and an intern when setting personal and academic goals for myself and meeting them.
    
Technical skills and competences   As a student political worker I operated a variety of office machines: printers, copiers, fax machines, computers and other equipment. I have performed troubleshooting as well as minor maintenance on these machines as well. As an activist I also operated a variety of media equipment such as camcorders and digital cameras.
    
Computer skills and competences  I have excellent skills with Apple Mac computers and operating systems. Although I am not a regular user of the Microsoft Suite, I have used it on occasion, are comfortable when performing the basics. My Internet with the internet is fairly advanced as when I am not in class, I am browsing the internet researching headlines and important international issues.
    
Artistic skills and competences  In addition to focusing on my political studies, I also enjoy crafting. I fell in love with the crafting as a teenager and I have been building since then. I have built birdhouses, chairs, desks, loft beds, and a variety other items. I plan to someday improve my crafting skills so that I may open a small carpenter's shop of my own.
    
Other skills and competences  I have acquired a great amount of transferable skills from my internships and volunteer work ranging from public speaking, leading and persuasion skills. I also work well independently have been told I am a very reliable and trustworthy person.
