Chronological CV

This is the standard CV format. The chronological element relates to the work history, which is presented in reverse order, starting with the most recent job held. Entries are formatted as follows:

  • Name
  • Objective
  • Skills
  • Work history
  • Education
  • Personal interests
  • References if required

The object of the chronological CV is to present your skills and work history in relation to the positions for which you apply. The CV is tailored for each application, targeting the essential requirements of the job.


Objective:

Relates to career motivation and reasons for wanting the job.

Skills:

Refers to essential skills of the position being sought.

Work history:

This is the outline of positions held, experience, and the duties of each position. The work history may also include ''value'' statements, citing achievements in these positions, as an indicator of skill levels and responsibilities in relation to the job application.

Education:

Highlights areas of qualification and certification in related areas. This section also includes all relevant training, courses, and other qualifications related to the position applied for.

Personal interests:

May include references to personal interests in the job.

References:

This entry simply states that you are able to provide required references upon request.
