Small business info sheet handouts basic example

For some businesses, promotions are an actual curse. Effective promotion really equates to being more visible in the market place.

Strictly speaking, promotions have to involve advertising on multiple levels. Realistically, however, you can't advertise all the time, and the big requirement is for sales.

The info sheet handout is ideal as a low cost direct marketing approach.

You'll have seen people doing handouts in shopping malls to attract business. The big advantage is that you really can target your potential clients while they're in the area.

As long as your information is good, your promotional materials will work.

The basics of info sheet handouts

  • They must be interesting
  • They must look good
  • They must contain color and look like fun
  • The selling propositions must be instantly recognizable
  • The text must be easy to read

The DO NOTS of info sheet handouts

  • DO NOT give out bland, dull, handouts
  • DO NOT use 'attack' methods when giving people your materials
  • DO NOT waste space on the sheets
  • DO NOT use text that sounds like an ad; stick to facts and prices

The example here is for a women's fashion shop. This is the classic case of a business where promotional materials are a real curse. Normal business is dependent on through traffic and casual shopping. That's a certain recipe for business failure, and you have to move your stock and make a decent profit.

This is a basic A4 sheet, using alternate colored fonts to separate subjects, with letterhead or logo. Note strong use of bold font and capitals, for easier reading:
